2023年12月4日，中国日报大学新闻奖颁奖典礼举行，北师港浸大（UIC）媒体与传播学专业学生斩获13项大奖，包括12项英文组奖项和1项中文组奖项。

中国日报于2012年创办“大学新闻奖”。该赛事旨在鼓励高校学生积极参与校园新闻报道，锻炼新闻写作能力以及多媒体制作、运用能力。本次大赛共收到来自80多所院校的逾千份中英文作品，参赛人数超3600人。

香港特别行政区政务司司长陈国基在颁奖典礼上发表视频致辞，他提到专业的新闻人需要具备“硬”知识和“软”技巧，充分认识和理解社会议题，培养敏锐的新闻触觉、秉持专业的新闻操守，以推动社会进步和发展为目标。

中国日报社副总编辑、亚太分社社长兼总编辑周立表示，面对科技发展对行业的冲击，同学们要以开放的心态、批判的眼光看待新技术，利用新技术推动新闻事业的发展。

北师港浸大学生获得的英文组奖项包括最佳新闻报道、最佳新闻写作、最佳新闻特写、最佳标题（2项）、最佳经济新闻报道、最佳文化艺术新闻报道、最佳科技新闻报道、最佳新闻视频、最佳专题视频（2项）、最佳数据新闻；中文组奖项为最佳数据新闻奖。北师港浸大获最踊跃参与学校奖。

参赛学生的指导老师为人文社科学院副教授Markus Heidingsfelder、林庆宝博士、Jocelyn Ford老师和戴菲老师。

最佳专题视频（英文组）得主赵婉汝说，完成这部纪录片的过程让她更加善于观察身边的人和事，普通人的态度、家庭的冲突都可以成为作品的灵感来源。

最佳新闻写作（英文组）得主宁柏程、杨筱雨等同学表示，通过这次写作经历，团队深刻意识到新闻的力量和责任，收获了宝贵的经验。

UIC journalists-to-be shine with 13 China Daily Campus News Awards

The 2023 Campus News Awards (CNA) by China Daily announced UIC students brought home 13 awards, including Best in News Reporting, Best in News Writing, Best in Feature Writing and more, 12 of which were in the English category and one in the Chinese category. UIC also won the Most Active Participation Award.

The participating students were proud to be part of the competition and expressed their gratitude towards their instructors. They said the competition had harnessed their professional skills in news writing and familiarised them with the full process of news production. It had also deepened their understanding of journalism and critical and indep ent thinking.

This is the twelfth year that CNA has been organised, and more than 100 senior media professionals, university journalism professors, and professionals from relevant government departments were invited to act as judges. This year, it has received over a thousand entries in English and Chinese prepared by more than 3600 participants from 84 institutions from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The numbers of participants, institutions and entries were all record-high.
