“中国是菲律宾香蕉贸易最亲睐的市场。”棉兰老岛香蕉种植者和出口商协会（Mindanao Banana Farmers and Exporters Association, Inc. ，MBFEA）会长Ric Delos Reyes指出。2019年4月，南方农村报、农财网香蕉通携考察团访问菲律宾最大香蕉种植区棉兰老岛，考察团走访MBFEA，了解菲律宾香蕉生产情况。

成立于2008年，MBFEA协会成员涵盖为数众多的菲律宾香蕉种植户和出口商。目前，MBFEA与中国进行香蕉贸易，每周平均有200个香蕉集装箱从菲律宾发往中国。MBFEA行政部负责人Gladys Mebrano-Garcia女士指出，“我们希望更多有实力的的中国采购商与我们取得直接联系，建立合作关系。”

“菲律宾香蕉是卖方市场，以往一些中国采购商想要订购菲蕉也并无渠道。”厉波在菲律宾从事菲蕉销售多年，目前在菲律宾棉兰老岛达沃地区经营一家旅行社。厉波认为，一些巨型流通商与菲律宾香蕉农场合作，将菲蕉销往世界各国，蕉农和消费市场的话语权偏弱。近年来，伴随着中国市场逐渐打开，越来越多的中国采购商直接来到菲律宾收购香蕉，许多菲律宾中小型香蕉农场和流通商，都愿意直接与中国采购商合作，实现双方利益的更大化。

近年来，MBFEA就与上海漳鑫国际贸易有限公司建立了长期稳定的经贸合作关系，为其提供优质货源，上海漳鑫派专人前往菲律宾农场进行品质把控。在消费市场，上海漳鑫凭借在国内庞大销售网络体系，将更多更优质的菲律宾香蕉输送至全国诸多大城市。

近年来，MBFEA在各个贸易区积极参与活动，为菲律宾香蕉产业做出贡献。2012年11月，MBFEA成为菲律宾全国香蕉大会代表；2014年11月，MBFEA参与组织国际香蕉研讨会。此外，MBFEA还在税收、收费等问题上发挥积极作用，向当地政府提出建议，为种植户和出口商争取权益。2013年，MBFEA成为农业部“建立和恢复包装设施项目”的重要执行者，为遭受巴勃罗台风和其他自然灾害袭击的地区提供帮助。除此之外，MBFEA还为种植户提供食品、救济和免费的医疗服务。

"China is the most favorite market for Philippine banana traders." Ric Delos Reyes, the president of the Mindanao Banana Farmers and Exporters Association pointed out. In April 2019, the delegation of Southern Rural Newspaper visited the Mindanao Island, the largest banana planting area in the Philippines, and the delegation visited MBFEA to learn about banana production.

MBFEA was established in 2008, and the members of MBFEA covers a large number of Philippine banana growers and exporters. Currently, MBFEA trades bananas with China, with an average of 200 banana containers per week from the Philippines to China. Ms. Gladys Mebrano-Garcia, executive Director of MBFEA said, "We hope that more powerful Chinese buyers will contact us directly and establish cooperative relations with us."

“Bananas trade in the Philippines is the seller's market. In the past, some Chinese purchasers had no channel to order them.” Li Bo has been selling bananas in the Philippines for many years and he told us，in the past, some large distributors  cooperate with the Philippine banana farms, but the voice of banana farmers and consumers are weak. In recent years, with the growth of Chinese Market, more and more Chinese purchasers come directly to the Philippines to buy bananas. Some medium-sized banana farms and traders in the Philippines are willing to cooperate directly with Chinese purchasers to achieve greater mutual interests.

For example, in recent years, MBFEA has established a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with Shanghai Zhangxin International Trade Co., Ltd. MBFEA provides high-quality goods for the latter, and Shanghai Zhangxin also sent staff to the Philippines for quality control. In China's banana consumer market, Shanghai Xinxin  bring more and better Philippine bananas to Chinese high-end consumers, relying on its huge sales network.

In recent years, MBFEA contributed to the banana industry in the Philippines. MBFEA has also been victorious in representing growers and exporters on issues with the local government particularly involving taxation, repetitive fees, and many others. In 2013, MBFEA became a recipient of the Department of Agriculture’s program on establishment and rehabilitation of packing facilities particularly in the areas hit by typhoon Pablo and other natural disasters.
